Experienced music tutor and performer specialising in classical music.

Tutoring Experience and Qualifications

With an MA from the Royal Academy of Music, and a BMus (Hons) from King’s College London, Alistair is a passionate music practitioner.

Performing as an opera singer, Alistair has travelled across Europe and the UK singing at venues such as The Royal Festival Hall, Opera Holland Park, Cadogan Hall, Auditorium de Lyon and the Ca’ Rezzonico Venice.  Alistair can also be found crooning his way through the American songbook with the Art Deco Orchestra at the Black Tie Ballroom Club, and he leads a folk music ensemble in South London.

Alistair has over 10 year experience as a music teacher and tutor, preparing pupils towards ABRSM graded practical examinations and grade 5 music theory exams.  He has worked as a music workshop leader in a number a primary and secondary schools leading sessions in classical voice and running workshops on multiple instruments including the violin, guitar and piano.  While his main performance practise is as a classical singer he is delighted to help pupils find their voice in a variety of styles including jazz and musical theatre.

Tutoring Vision

Alongside tuition and performance, Alistair provides music in therapeutic settings such as dementia service centres, hospitals and care homes, and is a huge believer in the benefits of music for people of all ages throughout life.
